Young architect Alberto Pinetti, with his bursting passion for art and design, began making pieces of furniture for his own home.
1983 The company
The products designed by Alberto were very well received on the market and he and his wife Ezia began to think big. Pinetti was founded.
1988 Foreign markets
Since the very beginning, Pinetti has been popular not just in Italy, but abroad too. As evidence of this, Pinetti can be found at Harrods and Liberty in London, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Kate’s Papery in New York, the MoMA bookshop in New York, Tokyo and Seoul, and Axis in Tokyo, to name but a few.
1989 The leather collections
Thanks to collaborations with one of the most important brands in the fashion world, the first all-leather collections were born. Leather would go on to become the main material used to make its products.
1990 Desk collection
Partnering with Japanese designer Takao Sugimoto, the modular table collection using leather and wood was born.
1993 Family collections
The collections continued to grow, with every member of the family making a contribution. It was sons Andrea, Lorenzo and Pietro who, in 1993, created the collection of watches and wallets going by their names.
1998 Made-to-measure
The company’s ability to create unique, made-to-measure products paved the way for the bespoke collections: high-end products for the very best brands in high fashion and furnishings.
2000 Turnkey solutions
The home range expanded and became an important player in the turnkey project sector. Pinetti began designing and creating profusely for the furniture and housekeeping markets, as well as the food & beverage sector for hotels, yachts and private jets.
2002 Sustainability
Working with Israeli designer Liora Reich led to the birth of notebooks and bags made from recycled leather – a real revolution as regards the use of sustainable materials.
2003 A new facility
Riding the wave of the company’s growing success both in Italy and abroad, it expanded and moved to new premises in Brusaporto, Bergamo (Italy). In the same year, it won second place at the Design Prestige Awards promoted by Milan’s Trade Centre.
2006 The new logo
With the help of designer Odoardo Fioravanti, the company unveiled a new corporate logo: five stacked sheets to represent the five members of the Pinetti family.
2009 The baskets collection
After meeting with young designer Antonio De Marco, the Hook and Euclide basket collections were created, along with Briglia, the firewood holder.
2010 Quattrogiga, the digital diary
In collaboration with Innocenzo Rifino of Habits Studio, the digital diary, Quattrogiga, was born. This diary would go on to win the Design Plus Award at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt the year after, and be nominated for the Designpreis Deutschland.
2011 Awards and prizes
The year of awards and prizes. In addition to those above, Pinetti won the Wallpaper Design Award with Lettera: a sleek, elegant office desk set reinterpreting antique 19th century lap desks in a modern key.
2012 Global development
Uncompromising attention to detail, made-to-measure designs and a punctual, attentive service: these are the founding pillars that guided Pinetti towards increasingly ambitious projects in all corners of the globe. Pinetti proved to be capable of offering comprehensive collections for all things home decor, from living room furnishings to bathroom fittings and office furniture, as well as items specifically designed for the outdoors.
2018 The future
Today, the company is celebrating 35 years in business. The extensive experience it has matured over the years makes Pinetti a truly exclusive partner for some of the most important and prestigious international interior design studios, shipyards, hotel chains and fashion brands.
